Andratx shadows the relaxed lifestyle of a typical Mallorquin village. The impressive town-hall, which is the administrative headquarters for the municipality, is situated high above the village, in a beautiful castle-like building. On Wednesdays there is a weekly market.
Andratx is not a touristic village; there are no hotels or guesthouses. Social life takes place mainly in the cafés, restaurants, and small shops around the “Plaza”- the village square - or on the pedestrian streets running through the village. In the centre of Andratx, typical town houses adorn the streets and pavements, and often have interior patios and small gardens. Modern designer apartment complexes and semi-detached houses can be found around the old district.
Many beaches can be found close by. The village has a good infrastructure and easy access to Palma.
