The impressive church overlooks the entire village and colourful bougainvilleas entwine the old natural stone facades of the well-kept village houses. The large village square with adjacent restaurant, public swimming pool and football pitch is a popular meeting place for young and old, especially on sunny days. Cyclists and hikers in particular are drawn to the area, which is lined with almond and olive trees, and the small restaurants serving typical island cuisine are always well frequented.

The inviting village of Es Capdella is home to numerous village houses, stylish and traditional fincas, spacious mansions and some Mediterranean-style villas with well-tended gardens and pool. For families with children, Es Capdella is a particularly charming place to live.

There is also a market every Monday in nearby Calvia.  There are a few more local services, such as the post office or a newsagent, but these are not open all the time. Excellent local schools are also nearby, including the Agora Portals international school.

The nearest larger towns are Calvia, Andratx town, Port Andratx and Peguera. Among the villages, Galilea and S'Arraco are worth mentioning.
