Overview of Golf Clubs in Mallorca

Mallorca offers in addition to holidays, beach, sea and party much more. Especially the golf scene is constantly growing on the Balearic island. The hobby is not only suitable for short vacationers, more and more locals dedicate themselves to outdoor activities. The special thing about golfing in Mallorca: the extraordinary landscapes in the different corners of the island.

If you want to play golf in Mallorca, you can choose between 24 different golf courses. They are located in the north, east, south and west of the island. Especially the southwest is densely populated with golf courses. Six of the golf courses alone are located in the vicinity of the capital Palma de Mallorca. Thus, the capital is a golf hotspot for professionals and newcomers. The high season of golfing in Mallorca usually takes place in March, April and May. In September, a second season usually begins, which lasts until November. Nevertheless, there is year-round operation on the golf courses of Mallorca. Of the 24 golf courses on the island, three golf courses are private. Accordingly, only guests of the hotel or restaurant are allowed to play golf on these courses. Without any time pressure, golf fans can let off steam here and tee off calmly. These golf courses include:

  • Golf Santa Ponsa II, 18-Loch-Privatplatz
  • Golf Santa Ponsa III, 9-Loch-Privatplatz
  • La Reserva Rotana Greens 9 Loch

Green fees of the golf courses

Member or not? Of course, memberships usually always result in many advantages for the persons concerned. Golfing in Mallorca is no different: depending on the form of membership, you may tee off on the golf courses at any time without any further costs. Nevertheless, golfing is also possible without membership: Only the so-called green fee has to be paid.  The green fee is to be understood as an entrance fee to the golf course. By paying the green fee, golfers are allowed to play on the 18 and 9 course as well as the short course. For both cases, however, tee times must be booked. In Mallorca there are 21 golf courses for green fee players.  The classification of the golf courses is as follows:

  • 19 golf courses with 18 holes
  • 1 golf course with 9 holes
  • 1 golf course as pitch + putt executive course

The green fee prices on the Spanish island are different. Of course, they depend on the respective golf club and the season. In the high season, an average green fee of 100.00 euros per day can be assumed, in the low season this amount per day is 80.00 euros.  The cheapest green fee amounts are about 65.00 euros daily. The lowest amounts can be found in the table:

For golfers and with Hcp-37 to Hcp-57 there are a small number of golf courses in Mallorca. With these facilities, tee times and green fees can usually be booked at lunchtime.
